Yeppoon, Australia 7-10 December 2008

The Australasian Association for Engineering Education (AAEE) and CQUniversity are pleased to invite you to Yeppoon for AAEE’s 19th Annual Conference.

The central theme for this year's conference is ' to industry and beyond', focusing on:

  • Beyond University
  • Beyond Australasia
  • Beyond the Present

This includes the focus on social responsibility and developing engineering graduates for a global workplace.

What is engineering?  What do the various stakeholders want from an engineering graduate?  How is the engineering workplace changing?  What pressures will engineering graduates face at work now and in the future?  What are the internal and external pressures experienced in engineering education?

Some of the pressures that are being seen now are:
  1. Broadening perspectives
  2. Education for the Flat World
  3. Engaging students in their education
  4. Boundaries of education
  5. Change
  6. Mobility and Transferability
  7. Responsibility and Accountability
  8. Diversity and Complexity
  9. Skills Demand

This conference invites participants to reflect on and develop responses to these questions.
